Extension data practices

The US Time Zones extension does not collect or transmit personal information, browsing history, website content, authentication information, financial information, location data, user activity, or analytics data.

The extension reads the browser’s locally resolved time zone so it can display your current local time. This value is processed only on your device and is not sent to us or to any third party.

Information stored locally

To remember your choices, the extension stores the following settings locally in your browser:

• Your selected time zone
• Time zones you add or remove
• 12-hour or 24-hour time format
• Visibility preferences for US time zones
• The time zone displayed on the toolbar icon

These settings stay on your device. They are not transmitted to the developer or shared with other parties.

Chrome permissions

Storage

Used only to save extension preferences locally and make them available to the extension’s background service worker.

Alarms

Used to update the selected time on the toolbar badge approximately once per minute.

The extension does not request access to websites, tabs, browsing history, cookies, location services, or network activity.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell, rent, disclose, or share user information. The extension does not include advertising, analytics services, tracking technologies, remote code, or third-party data processors.

Data retention and deletion

Your saved preferences remain in the browser until you change them, clear the extension’s storage, or uninstall the extension. Uninstalling US Time Zones removes its locally stored extension data according to Chrome’s normal extension-removal process.

Children’s privacy

The extension does not knowingly collect information from children or from any other users.

Website data and analytics

Separately from the extension, this website uses Yandex Metrica to understand visits and improve the website. When you visit the website, Yandex Metrica may collect or process technical and usage information such as browser and device details, IP-derived location, referring pages, visited pages, clicks, link interactions, and session activity. Its Webvisor feature is enabled.

This collection occurs only on the website. Yandex Metrica is not included in the Chrome extension, does not monitor use of the extension, and does not receive time zones, preferences, or any other information stored by the extension.

Changes to this policy

If the extension’s data practices change, this policy will be updated before those changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page will also be revised.
